Interactive Exploration of the Average Well-Being Levels Experienced by Different Ethnicities Across Ages and Income Levels
This project uses the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index dataset, a multiple time-scale data set that includes basic demographic and well-being data from ~10,000 U.S. respondents. We fit logistic models to predict the outcome variable, defined as well_being_index in this dataset.

The variable of well_being_index, as defined by this model, is a composite score surveyed from questions that fall into six sub-indexes: BasicAccess, Physical Health, Emotional Health, Healthy Behaviors, Life Evaluation, and Work Environment.
I. Scatterplot of Well-Being Trends by Income and Age
These scatterplots display the individual data points for each of the 10,000 people surveyed in the Gallup dataset, demonstrating the average well-being levels experiences by different ethnicity groups throughout thier lifetime and at different income levels.
II. Interactive bubble chart (Age)
This interactive bar chart visually displays the mean stressor total for different demographic groups across various ages as circles, where the size of the circle corresponds to the amount of people that fit into each ethnicity-age group and experiences a certain level of well-being. By hovering over the circles, users can see the total count labels of each demographic that falls under the specific age with a certain mean well-being value predicted by the lm model.
*Note to users: You can click on each ethnicity in the legend to filter the data for each group. Hover over the bubbles to see the total count labels of each demographic that falls under the specific age with a certain mean stressor value predicted by the lm model.
III. Interactive bubble chart (Income)
This interactive bar chart visually displays the mean well-being total for different demographic groups across various income levels as circles, where the size of the circle corresponds to the amount of people that fit into each ethncity-income group and experiences different levels of well-being. By hovering over the circles, users can see the total count labels of each demographic that falls under the specific income with a certain mean well-being value predicted by the lm model.
*Note to users: You can click on each ethnicity in the legend to filter the data for each group. Hover over the bubbles to see the total count labels of each demographic that falls under the specific age with a certain mean well-being value predicted by the lm model.
IV. Interactive 3D Plot
This interactive bar chart displays the mean well-being total for different ethnicities across various ages and income levels. By hovering over the data points, users can see the total count labels of each demographic that falls under the specific income with a certain mean well-being value predicted by the lm model.
